A seamless bra can hold its shape for years if you wash it right. The three rules that matter.
Seamless knits are resilient, but elastane, the fibre that gives your bra its recovery, has two enemies: heat and friction. Protect it from those and a bra keeps its shape for years.
Rule one: cold wash
Machine wash cold, ideally inside a mesh laundry bag, with the hooks fastened so they can't snag the knit. Skip fabric softener, which coats elastane and kills its snap.
Rule two: never the dryer
Tumble drying is the single fastest way to age a bra. Heat breaks down elastane permanently. Lay flat to dry in the shade, because direct Nairobi sun can yellow lighter colours over time.
Rule three: rotate
Elastane needs a day to recover between wears. Rotating between two or three bras doesn't just feel fresher. Each one genuinely lasts longer than three worn back-to-back.
