1. Who we are
LYEC Essentials is responsible for personal data collected through lyecessentials.com and our direct customer-service channels. In this policy, "we", "us" and "our" refer to LYEC Essentials.
2. Information we collect
- Order information: your name, phone number, delivery or pickup details, order lines, selected sizes and colours, notes, subtotal and order status.
- Messages you choose to send through WhatsApp or another support channel, including fit measurements if you ask us for sizing help.
- Email addresses supplied for our newsletter or a product restock alert.
- Technical information needed to deliver and secure the Site, which may include device, browser, IP address, request and error-log information recorded by our hosting and database providers.
- Shopping-bag contents and saved fit results stored locally in your browser.
3. Why we use it
- To receive, verify, fulfil, deliver and support orders, and to manage exchanges or complaints.
- To answer questions and provide fit recommendations you request.
- To send a newsletter or restock message when you have asked for it; you may opt out at any time.
- To operate, secure, troubleshoot and improve the Site, prevent fraud, maintain accurate stock and meet legal or accounting obligations.
4. Our lawful basis
We process information where it is necessary to take steps you request or perform an order, where we have a legitimate business interest that does not override your rights, where you consent—for example to marketing—or where Kenyan law requires it. You may withdraw consent at any time without affecting earlier lawful processing.
5. Who receives information
We disclose only what is reasonably needed to service providers that help us run the shop, such as website hosting and database providers, communications services, delivery partners and professional advisers. WhatsApp and social networks process information under their own policies when you use them. We do not sell personal data.
Some providers may process data outside Kenya. Where that happens, we take reasonable steps to use an appropriate legal basis and safeguards required by Kenyan data-protection law.
6. Retention and security
We retain order and transaction records for as long as reasonably needed to fulfil orders, handle queries, maintain business and tax records, resolve disputes and comply with law. Newsletter and restock details are kept until you opt out or the purpose ends. Fit results and shopping-bag details remain in your own browser until you clear them.
We use reasonable organisational and technical safeguards, but no internet service can promise absolute security. Please do not send payment PINs, passwords or one-time codes.
7. Your rights
- Ask whether we hold personal data about you and request access to it.
- Ask us to correct inaccurate or incomplete personal data.
- Object to or ask us to restrict certain processing, and withdraw consent-based processing.
- Ask for deletion of personal data where the law permits, or request portable data where applicable.
- Complain to Kenya's Office of the Data Protection Commissioner if you believe your data-protection rights have been infringed.
8. Children and changes
The Site is not directed to children and we do not knowingly collect a child's personal data without the involvement or consent required by law. If you believe a child has supplied information improperly, contact us.
We may update this policy to reflect changes to our services or legal duties. Material changes will be identified by the updated date above.
